| Mary Terhune has been a health care practitioner for the past forty years. She began her studies in the healing arts as a registered nurse. She graduated with honors from Boston College with a degree in psychology. After twenty years of practicing in Western medicine, which included a medical/surgical and psychiatric unit, doctor's office, nursing homes as well as administrative support for health programs at Harvard University's School of Public Health, Beth Israel Hospital's Research Administration Department and Committee on Clinical Investigations and as Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Department of Physics International Workshop Coordinator, she discovered alternative medicine out of a need to heal herself. She spent the next twenty years as a certified massage therapist and reiki master. She studied at the Renaissance Institute of Classical Homeopathy and has been studying, practicing and teaching classical homeopathy for the past eight years. She is a meditation practitioner and has been studying Eastern philosophy for the past twenty-one years. Mary has traveled to India and has a Self-Realized meditation master as her guide to the inner knowledge of Self-Realization. After suffering a near-fatal heart attack in July 2006, Mary went on sabbatical to recuperate and finish writing her book. Mary is now offering workshops on topics in the book as well as various topics in the field of Western Homeopathic Medicine including her interest in unifying allopathic and homeopathic medicine under the one umbrella of Western Medicine as the most effective, sustainable and affordable system of healthcare.
